How to choose an AI program without wasting six months

A practical framework for matching your background, time and goal to the right AI learning path.

Choosing an AI program is mostly a sequencing problem. Start from the outcome you want, work backwards to the skills that produce it, and only then look at syllabi.

Begin with your baseline. If you have never written a loop, a generative AI engineering program will move faster than you can absorb; a foundations program buys you the vocabulary and the confidence to move quickly later.

Next, be honest about time. Six to eight hours a week is enough for a structured live program if the hours are protected. Two hours is not, regardless of what a course page claims.

Finally, judge programs by what you produce, not by what you watch. A curriculum that ends with an evaluated, deployed project gives you something to talk about; a curriculum that ends with a quiz does not.
